There are a number of physical barriers to accessing leisure facilities in the City of London. There is just one public leisure centre, Golden Lane, which is located on an estate not visible from the road and with limited signage. Being situated on a residential estate also entails restrictions to opening hours and noise levels to ensure minimal disruption to local residents, which can restrict the activities that take place at the centre. 2
