In total, there were 297,085 people (all ages) registered with a GP in Hackney and the City as of November 2015, which is larger than the estimated resident population of 273,500. 3 This phenomenon holds true for all ages up to 24 years, and is attributed at least in part to high levels of population mobility and delays in removing patients from lists after they have left the area. At the same time, it is estimated that approximately 4-5% of Hackney and the City’s residents are not registered with a GP (in Hackney and the City or elsewhere). 4
